Yaukuve Fiji Retreat

Born of lava and ringed
by teeming reef, Yaukuve is the quintessential
deserted island. And in 2005, it will be the
quintessential private island retreat for those
seeking luxurious solitude. This paradise found is
flanked by four untouched beaches, and crowned by a
pocket of rainforest on the southern summit of its
152 acres. Only 21 guest bures will be tucked in
among the palms on the northern coconut plain, and
along the beachfront, for one of the South Pacific's
most private castaway experiences.
Each bure has a vast covered and furnished terrace,
an outdoor shower enclosed in a private garden and a
net-covered daybed for sleeping under the sun and
moon. Yaukuve's guest bures are amongst the largest
in the South Pacific, and are spread across the
island for the luxury of privacy and perfect views.
Yaukuve offers 20 one-bedroom beach bures and 1
unique Royal Bure with private pool.
The island is all yours - diving on the Great
Astrolabe Reef with your own PADI guide, lounging by

Nagigia Island Surf Resort
A unique little island resort right off the south
tip of Kadavu (within the barrier reef). The south
tip of Kadavu has some awesome surf. Nagigia lies
within view of Mt. Nabukalevu (Mt. Washington) which
we have termed the Bali Hai of Fiji.
This Fiji surf resort on Nagigia Island is one of the most beautiful islands
you will ever visit with great surf. Enjoy offshore prevailing winds.
Excellent viewing platform on land near the main left hand break for
spectators. Other breaks nearby suitable for beginnners and non advanced
surfers. Exceptional fishing with large variety of fish: Marlin, Yellow Fin
Tuna, Groper, Wahu, Walu, Giant Trevalli, Mahi Mahi and many more.

Tiliva Resort
Tiliva Resort is not a typical holiday destination.
It offers unrivalled peace and tranquility in an
area of outstanding natural beauty, and is only a 20
minute boat trip from the impressive Astrolabe reef.

on the north east of the island. The guest
accommodation is self contained chalets (bures)
having typical Fijian style high ceilings with full
en-suite facilities, ceiling fans and private
veranda. These are only yards from the resort's
white sandy beach with magnificent views across the
bay to the island of Ono. The bures are serviced on
a daily basis.

Tamarillo Kayaking
Join Tamarillo Kayaking
Expedition on a tropical expedition, by sea-kayak. A
seven-day slice of paradise. Paddle at a leisurely
island pace along the palm-fringed coast, drifting
from one idyllic scene to the next. Dive down to the
fish-filled reef, snorkel over the castles of coral.
Beachcomb your way around deserted islands, siesta
under the mango trees. Laugh with the locals, and
feast on the fine, fresh food from the land and sea,
tropical delicacies and imported gourmet essentials.
We stay in small, intimate resorts, all within
comfortable paddling range of each other. One night
will be spent staying as guests of a local village.
The chief and the people there have extended a
welcome to Tamarillo groups, and enjoy sharing their
culture and lifestyle with us. Each night on the
journey we sleep in 'bure's, traditional Fijian
houses, hand-made by the local builders and weavers.
Comfortable beds, clean sheets, and fresh showers
ensure you will rest well.
The Great Astrolabe Reef encircles the islands of
Kadavu Ono, meaning the water we paddle is always
calm. The kayaks we use are sleek and very stable,
and all are equipped with the usual safety features.
The Tamarillo guides have kayaked, worked and
adventured in wild places for many years, and are
skilled in risk-management and emergency medical
care. Fiji does have destructive cyclones
occasionally, but only in the summer season. The
Tamarillo expeditions take place in the winter
months when the weather is always settled, fine and
warm.

The snorkelling and scuba-diving along the Great
Astrolabe Reef is world-class, and is a highly
recommended activity. Snorkelling equipment and
instruction is included in the Tamarillo expedition
price.
Then there's .....lying in hammocks, reading books,
going fishing, swimming, beachcombing, meeting the
locals, walking through the rain-forest, playing
beach volleyball, coconut petanque, watching the sun
set, gazing at stars.... You'll love it!
From $2,150NZD per person
Rates above include the following: Return airfare (Nadi-Kadavu-Nadi),
flying Sun Air. 5 nights resort accommodation. 1
nights village accommodation. All meals while in
Kadavu, and refreshments throughout each day. 5 days
guided sea-kayaking, plus guided walks, snorkelling
trips and other activities. All sea-kayaking and
snorkelling equipment, and tuition. All transfers
while in Kadavu, and motorised support boat services
throughout the sea-kayaking sectors.
